Cleartrip was launched in the year July 2006, by Stuart Crighton & Hrush Bhatt. It seems like not too long ago, but Cleartrip has already completed 10 years of clean travel product to search and book for. All this, yet, keeping the pricing honest, choices transparent, and interactions consistently positive.
Cleartrip revamped its website, particularly mobile app this year. The changes have been made to improve three major aspects; performance, usage, and usefulness. The app has been introduced with a 'Local' and 'Travel' tabs to distinguish the needs according to the customer's location. The Travel tab features Flights, Hotels, Trains, and Account Info tabs. Whereas the 'Local' tab features Activities, Eat Out, Events, Fitness, and Account info. You can select the city manually or let the GPS work on the charm for the Local tab.

In 'Local' tab, the Activities are having lots of option to choose from and is divided into Adventure, Outdoors, and Indoors Group. In the Eat-Out area, you'll get every kind of option starting from breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinners, pubs, brews, barbeque, buffets to happy hours all at one place! Just select the city you need the info of or want to reserve a table at.
In the events area, one can select all local events and happenings from Music, Art, Theatre, Comedy, Adventure, and others. A new area under Local tab is Fitness with all activities happening in the particular area. Gym, Zumba, Yoga, Dance, Fitness Studios, Kids fitness, swimming to even Marathon Trainings are few of the activities listed in this section. In Account info area, both Travel and Local tabs have wallets option to choose from. 'Expressway' a feature that saves credit and debit card details of the users has been there for quite a while now.
The Travel Tab
In 'Travel' tab, a unique additional feature is the 'amendment' option, which enables one to make changes to the date, time, and flight without cancelling the original flight booking. Also, there is an option for multicity flight booking at one place in Cleartrip. The hotel segment of the website and app has also undergone certain changes. One can view more photos of a hotel in a 'dark room' screen setting. You will have the option to sort it by ratings, savings, and price.
'Flights +Hotels' feature, which enabled a combined booking of flights and hotels for a location at discounted rates was launched by Cleartrip for apps in 2013.And now, it contributes almost a third of Cleartrip’s hotel bookings. They have been introducing new features at a relentless pace for hotel customers and other Travel/Local options to give them the widest variety of best deals and customer experience, and so far their efforts have yielded good results.
